position: The location of any star
can be described by an Earth-bound
observer using an equatorial
coordinate system, which describes a
point on a sphere using two
coordinates: Right Ascension and
Declination. All points on the circle
of the equator can be described as
being so many minutes, hours, and
seconds from a fixed point, as if the
equator were a giant clock with one
hand that measured the 24-hour day.
